Rural imaginaries of food security and their family participation in two case studies in the municipality of Florencia Caquetá

Food security is the sufficient access to safe and nutritious food to meet dietary needs and personal preferences. In the present study, imaginary about food security were constructed in two case studies in the municipality of Florencia, department of Caquetá. The selected case studies were part of an initial project to strengthen food security. In this study, structured interviews were applied through questions in advance with a limit of categories by answers and they were asked to the interviewees or participants, the treatment of the interviews consisted of the systematization of the answers and 18 categories and two correlated families were obtained through networks, some of them such as savings, family labor, health, belonging, vision, self-sufficiency, satisfaction and food. The two case studies, despite the fact that they are located in different geographical areas, agreed on the worldview about food security and the importance of the participation of the members in the strengthening of the productive unit as a strategy to improve the family economy
